Mr. Berdos
Lesson activities - do as many as you like:
- Log onto www.nyphilkids.org. Go to Composer’s Gallery (bottom of screen). Select “country”, then “USA”. Select three composers and write down four facts about him or her. You can also explore composers from other nations, dates, and different stylistic periods. Bring your fact sheet to school and hand it in to me.
- There are lots of other great pages in nyphilkids.org for you to explore. Have fun!
- Go to www.musictheory.net and work through the first lesson called "The Staff, Clefs, and Ledger Lines". At the end of the lesson, print out the last page and write the names of the lines and spaces on it. Hand in your work.
- Also on musictheory.net, work through the "Note Duration" lesson. Print out the last page and label the different types of notes. Hand in your work. For extra credit, which type of note is also called a "quaver"? Where is that term used?
- Be sure to check in to my Music Listening Page to review your music listening selections. Remember that you will have to identify the piece from a list when it is played in class.
