THE TOASTERS

The History
The Toasters came to be in early spring, 2006.  Mr. Buckley, Mr. Facciani, Mr. Vehslage, and Mr. Williams joined Mr. Berdos as the Pingry SH Men's Chorus.  The group practiced diligently each week, and debuted singing Billy Joel's "The Longest Time" in the 2006  Spring Concert.

The Name
The name "The Toasters" was contributed by a 5th grade student.  The group asked a group of 5th graders how we sounded.  Before they answered, one of the singers indicated that the students may "be toast" if they didn't approve our sound.  So, a quick-witted 5th grader dubbed us "The Toasters".  The name stuck.

The Career
The Toasters embarked on a distinguished performing career, including the playground at Short Hills, the Short Hills Spring Concert, and All-School Field Day at Martinsville in May 2006.  This year the Toasters have been asked to sing at the Pingry Spring Benefit.

Current Repertoire
As of Spring 2007, The Toasters are singing:

The Longest Time, The Star Spangled Banner, Loch Lomond, Barbara Ann, Sixteen Tons
