Critical Thinking MC Section Preliminary Submission (Optional)

Click the link below; enter your six digit test code in the window.

Preliminary submission is due by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7.

You may print the test and bring it with you to the final.

You may NOT discuss the test with anyone except Pingry biology faculty.

You may use class notes, textbook, or web sources.

-4 Possible Essays distributed in class

-Exam Instructions, Student ID, Rooms numbers distributed

-MC Section Diagrams distributed in class

-Multiple Choice section available at 2:00 p.m.

**Resources allowed but NO discussion.

-Office Hours

-Bio Faculty available to discuss online MC section

-Optional online MC submission due by 3:00 p.m. (follow link)

Biology I Final Exam Format

Essay Section (40 mins)

-Two Essays

-Groups of 3 students

-10 minutes group discussion time

-30 minutes independent writing time

-Answers will be handwritten on provided answer document  (1 per student)

-Answers handed in to proctor before changing rooms

Critical Thinking Multiple Choice (40 mins)

-Number of questions to be determined

-New groups of 3 students

-40 minutes to discuss and document answers

-Answers will be submitted on a Scan-Tron sheet (1 per student)

Concept Multiple Choice (40 mins)

-30 Questions

-Independent

-Answers will be submitted on same Scan-Tron sheet (1 per student)

Acceptable Resources for Biology I Final Exam

Essay Section

-No outside resources allowed

Critical Thinking Multiple Choice

-Five 81/2" by 11" pages

-Pages may be typed or handwritten

-Should include information from key semester topics

-Biochemistry/Water

-Macromolecules

-Cellular Structure and Function

-Energetics

-DNA and Gene Expression

-A copy of your answers from the online preliminary submission

-No laptops

Concept Multiple Choice

 

-No outside resources allowed

 

Students choosing to use their extended time or requiring special accomodation should see Mr. Alfano prior to the day of the exam to make arrangments.
